Owners Lisa Prather and Matthew Smith have renovated the space formerly occupied by Theresa's Restaurant creating Salt & Pepper Cafe.
Chef Lisa is a Pinellas County resident and graduate of the University of Tampa and the Art Institute of Tampa, where she earned her culinary degree. She is the owner of A Fresh Connection Catering, Cafe & Bakery, and Florida Chefs Workshop, a shared-use commercial kitchen, which provides food entrepreneurs the means to prepare and process their products for the consumer market. Through her catering business, she became familiar with the spot that has become Salt & Pepper Cafe.
Chef Matthew is a native of St. Petersburg and has worked in the hospitality and food business for 25 years and was trained as a chef at Le Cordon Bleu, Paris. “We knew that we could do this and do it well,” Smith said of realizing the concept for Salt & Pepper. “We are planning really phenomenal things and are excited to be here.”
